How ArtBoxes works.

ArtBoxes opens original artwork to a buyer pool a hundred times larger — without asking artists to lower their prices.

  1. 1

    An artist configures a sale.

Original physical work — a painting, a print run, a sculpture — listed at the artist's price.

  2. 2

The work is attached to boxes.

A $2,500 painting becomes 100 sealed boxes at $25 each. One box contains the original. The rest hold a consolation piece the artist defines — a signed print, a numbered insert, a personal note.

  3. 3

    Buyers purchase boxes.

At an accessible entry price, thousands of fans can participate where only a few hundred plausible buyers existed before.

  4. 4

The sale closes and the original ships.

A transparent, verifiable randomization picks the winner. The artist ships directly. Non-winners receive what the artist defined.

  5. 5

    Boxes can be traded afterward.

On the secondary market, collectors can resell their boxes. Every resale pays the artist a royalty — forever.
